Frequently Asked Questions.
Classes & Locations
Where are the classes located?
Classes run from TWO Brisbane locations.
Find more details about your closest venue on the Studio Locations page.
Do I need to complete a beginner course before I join?
Not at all! Anyone is completely welcome to jump straight into a casual class at any time, with two levels to choose from. These sessions learn a brand-new routine each class:
Beginner FloorWerk – Designed to be an introductory level, covering a few beginner moves before learning a short 30–45 second routine.
Mixed-Level FloorWerk – All levels welcome, diving straight into a longer 60-second routine with variations provided to simplify or advance moves to suit a range of experience.
For anyone brand new to dance who would prefer a more in-depth exploration of floorwork movements, the FloorWerk Essentials course learns a single routine over 3 weeks. It is a fantastic option to begin with, but absolutely not a prerequisite!
Do you host private sessions or party bookings?
Group dance sessions can be privately booked if you have a birthday, hens party, or a special group event coming up you’d like to celebrate!
Head over to the Private Party Bookings page to check out the details or lock in a date!
Do you offer memberships?
Not at this stage – with a limited number of classes running each week, the best-value option is to grab a pre-paid pack. These give you flexibility to book when it suits you, and still save per class.
For more information, check out the Class Pricing & Packs.
How does the waitlist work?
If a class is full, you can join the waitlist to be notified first if a space opens up.
You won’t automatically be added to the class – instead, you’ll receive an email with a priority link and a short window to book the spot before it’s offered to the next person in line.
If no one on the waitlist claims it, the space will reopen to the public. This way, if someone can no longer attend, their spot can be offered fairly.
NOTE: On ocassions that a waitlist is big enough, an extra class may be opened up – so it’s always worth adding your name to the list!
Is there a student group or announcement board?
Yes – You can join the channels and groups below to stay up to date!
Instagram:
Notification Board – A channel to get key updates directly in your Instagram DMs (timetable drops, promos, important reminders etc).
Facebook:
Minx Community – participate in group polls, request songs, and connect with other students.
Ps. Any updates affecting a class you’re booked into will be sent to the email/phone details you used at checkout.
What To Wear
What do I wear to class?
Wear whatever makes you feel confident and sexy – whether that’s activewear, or fishnets and a strappy bodysuit!
We’ll sometimes have cheeky poses in the routines so choose something that you feel confident and secure to move around in.
For more inspiration, check out these outfit ideas and tips.
What heels are suitable for floorwork?
Heels with a mostly enclosed style are recommended for FloorWerk classes to protect the tops of your feet and toes. Avoid thin, strappy styles, which can feel uncomfortable or unstable.
Heels are optional if you’d like to try a class first without them – just wear socks so your feet can slide.
Suitable styles include:
- Pole dance boots / heels
- Dance heels
- Chunky ankle boots
For more details and examples, see this guide on choosing the right heels for floorwork.
What kneepads are recommended?
Dance gel kneepads are recommended for long-term use as they don’t compress or wear down as quickly as foam styles during repetitive floorwork.
For examples of dance kneepads and where to buy them, see this guide on choosing the right heels and kneepads.
Note: Kneepads are required for all FloorWerk classes
Cancellations
How do I cancel or change a booking (and can I get a refund)?
Cancel or reschedule a class up to 24 hours before your session starts by:
Signing into your account using the menu 'user' icon.
Clicking the 'View/Change Booking' button in your confirmation email.
How the cancellation and refund policy works:
- Canceling early (24+ hours notice): You can easily cancel via your account. You will receive a full refund, or your pre-paid class credit will be instantly returned to your balance
- Canceling late (less than 24 hours) or no-shows: Once you are within the 24-hour window, your booking is final, and the option to cancel will no longer appear in your account or email. At this stage, any payment or class credit is forfeited.
What happens if a class is postponed?
On the rare occasion that a class needs to be cancelled or rescheduled (for example, if minimum numbers aren’t met) you’ll be notified at least 24 hours in advance via the email and phone number used in your customer sign-up.
Any payments will be refunded or pre-paid credits returned to your account.
To ensure you receive important updates, please add [email protected] to your contact list and sign up with an email you regularly monitor.
